We depart from Milan Central Train Station at 8:00 am for an hour train ride to Varenna, a charming little town on Lake Como, where we begin our excursion. After a short walk through this picturesque village we drive to Sondrio in Valtellina, the Alpine valley that begins above Lake Como. From there we drive for twenty minutes to the gondola that carries us to the ski area where we take in the views of the snow-covered slopes and the skiers. We have the option of skiing renting boots and skis! If we choose to ski, we do not attempt anything difficult. The activity is intended more for beginners or first-timers. At some point we can have lunch at a nearby restaurant. At around 3:00 pm we catch the gondola for the return trip to our car for the drive back to the lake and the final train ride to Milan.
